Kiwanis helps run the Stars & Stripes Celebration on Main Street in downtown Waynesville. July 4. Kids and families are the star of the show for the Kids On Main parade. Kids and Parents Join the fun by decking out their bikes, scooters, strollers and wagons with July 4 decor — think ribbons, streamers, beads, crazy hats, bubbles and, of course, flags. The parade steps off from the Haywood County Courthouse lawn with registration and a decorating party starting at 10 a.m. It travels three blocks to Waynesville First Baptist Church where free ice cream awaits.
